Our COVID-19 Response
General Information:
- Please be patient, responsible, and respectful of fellow customers and ISU Surplus staff.
- Please practice social/physical distancing at all times and obey all signage inside the facility.
- To help protect against and stop the spread of the COVID-19, face coverings/masks are required as of July 1st, 2020.
- Please wash and/or sanitize your hands as often as possible.
- Please do not enter the building if you are currently experiencing any symptoms or have been in contact with someone that has been exposed to COVID-19 in the last 14 days. We ask that you be honest and responsible with this information in order to protect everybody.
- Due to strict occupancy restrictions, we highly recommend no more than 2 people per family shop inside our facility at any given time
- Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, our intramural and public sale status may change with short notice. Updates will be shared on our website and on our Facebook page as soon as we are able to provide them.
Entry into the Building:
- Our entrance will have a designated walkway. Please line up using the red dots on the ground to respect social/physical distancing measures.
- Due to the 50% capacity rule we will only allow 20 customers into the building at one time. As customers leave the building we will allow other customers in.
- One way in and one way out. You will enter the building using the main south entrance and exit the building using the east warehouse overhead door. You will not be allowed to exit using the south main entrance. *NO EXCEPTIONS*
- Once you leave the building you will not be allowed to reenter unless you go back to the front entrance line and wait in line again. *NO EXCEPTIONS*
Terms of Payment:
- For the protection of our staff we are trying to make all transactions as non-contact as possible. We prefer payment be made by credit/debit card. If you cannot use a credit/debit card we can still take cash or check.
- We will be using (2) clerks and there will be no “Express Lane” ($10 and under) available at this time.
- When you are ready to check out we ask that you pick a line to make payment. Please line up on the markings on the floor to respect social/physical distancing practices.
Picking up your items:
- If you need assistance loading your items, please leave your receipt with an available staff member near the loading door and they will retrieve your items for you.
- You will not be allowed to reenter the building to get your items. An ISU Surplus staff member will retrieve your items for you.
- If you are unable to take your items with you on the day of the sale we ask that you put a yellow sold tag on the items. You can get sold tags from the sales counter as you check out. We also would like a date and time on when you plan to come get your items.
- All items must be removed by Friday at 3:30 p.m. on the week of the sale.
- All pickups “MUST BE SCHEDULED”. Our facility will be locked outside of sale hours for the COVID-19 situation until further restrictions are lifted.

- When you get here to pick up your items we ask that you come to the main south entrance door and ring the doorbell to let us know you are here. We will direct you from there on where to go to load your items.
This is new and different for all of us. All we want to do is try to keep everybody safe and ensure a good experience shopping here at ISU Surplus. So again we please ask:
